It’s easy to select the Broan Wireless Chime that’s right for you. All our chimes are compatible with each other meaning you can choose to have a plug in strobe chime in the garage, a portable battery operated model upstairs and another Broan wireless chime anywhere in between. Even better, each allows for the addition of second and third buttons that can be set to ring a different number of notes. This way, you’ll know which door to answer and be sure to never miss an important guest.
You can choose from models that simply plug into a wall, or models where you just add batteries. Convenient portable models are ready to use as a door chime or as a portable pager you can carry around with you. No matter which model you choose, installation is easy. Very easy to install the wall unit and the button. Although it says that it has CD quality sound, it does sound a little "tinny". Not objectionable enough to warrant a return, but not as good as I thought it was going to sound.
I bought two units. I placed the ringer buttons on the front and rear doors. You can easily assign them different ring patterns (westminister, ding-dong, and dong). The buttons also ring on both receivers independently (if correctly set up). The receivers are also smaller and more compact than they look in the photo.
I placed the receiver units in the downstairs hall and in the bonus room upstairs (far side of house). The wireless easily rings the far unit (I have had a previous wireless system that did not work at a long distance).
Also, volume control is set by hitting a button that has roughly 6 preset sound levels. I would have liked a little more volume, but it seems similar to my old wired bell.
